
Massive Load Of Meth and Heroin Found in Cucumber Shipment
While most people feel safe living in Texas, we know that drugs and crime happen in the Lone Star State as well. No matter how hard police officers and other law enforcement agencies work, criminals will always attempt to break the law.
Recently, there was a massive load of drugs that was seized as smugglers were trying to hide it in a shipment of cucumbers and jalapenos.
Over $19 Million in Methamphetamine Seized
NBCDFWBut there was an additional $144,000 worth of heroin found in the same shipment.
How Were the Drugs Found in the Load Coming into Texas?
The incident took place on Tuesday, February 4th when Border Patrol Agents working at the Pharr International Bridge stopped a truck that was attempting to enter the U.S. from Mexico.
The truck was inspected and found to have 26 packages of heroin, weighing over 7 pounds. There were 8,206 packages of methamphetamine with the total weight being over 2,215 pounds.

Customs and Border Protection officers are working as hard now as they ever have with the intense political climate right now. And the director of the Hildalgo-Pharr-Anzalduas Port of Entry, Carlos Rodriguez said,
“Our CBP officers do not skip any steps when it comes to securing our border.”
