(KNUE-FM) We all know that convenience stores in Texas are a big deal. They can create almost a cult type following if done correctly, as we have seen with Buc-ee's stores. Although there are still lots of places around Texas that don’t have a Buc-ee's, and soon there will be a new convenience store in town.

Casey’s is Expanding in Texas

According to My San Antonio, the Iowa-based convenience store is going to be adding 150 new locations in Texas, including some in East Texas. And while Casey’s doesn’t have the same type following that Buc-ee's has, it could soon become a rival to that beaver.

Where are the East Texas Casey’s Locations Going to be Located?

There are currently five East Texas Casey’s locations that have plans to open later in 2025 or in early 2026. There are two in Gregg County, one being on N. Main Street in Gladewater and the other is going to be on N. Kilgore Street in Kilgore.

The other three locations planned in East Texas include a conveniences store in Texarkana, Sulphur Springs, and one on State Highway 31 in Athens.

What Makes Casey’s Conveniences Stores Special?

While I have seen Casey’s convenience stores before, I don’t believe I have ever stopped at one to make a purchase. From what I read online, they serve some great food items such as pizza, sandwiches, and other goodies.

You can click here to see all of the Casey’s conveniences stores currently open in Texas. Only time will tell if Casey’s starts gaining in popularity in these new areas with stores popping up soon. Although I’m not sure if Casey’s will ever become more popular that Buc-ee's.
