Patrick Mahomes Has Made a New Investment in American State Bank
Patrick Mahomes has gone from Whitehouse Wildcat to Texas Tech Red Raider to Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl winning quarterback. His meteoric rise in the National Football League lead to him signing a 10-year, $450 million contract to stay with the Chiefs. Patrick is not squandering any of that money. He has become part owner of Major League Baseball's Kansas City Royals, is part of an ownership group bringing Whataburger restaurants to the Kansas City area and has now made an investment in a Texas owned bank with locations in East Texas.
American State Bank and Patrick Mahomes' Connection
American State Bank is a Lubbock based bank with 37 locations across Texas, including three locations in Tyler. It was here that Whitehouse native, Patrick Mahomes, set up his first bank account when he was just 16 years old. He has remained an account holder at American State Bank since.
Patrick has now become the second-largest shareholder in American State Bank as they look to expand in Texas and expand their digital banking foothold.
I opened my first account with American State Bank when I was just 16-years old. From my time at Texas Tech and throughout my career in Kansas City, ASB has been a constant in my life and I’m proud to join the ownership group during its transformation into a major player in the Lubbock market, Texas and the new digital economy. - Patrick Mahomes
It just so happens that American State Bank is the sponsor behind Patrick's induction into the Texas Tech University Ring of Honor and Hall of Fame this weekend (October 28 and 29). Texas Tech will host Baylor on Saturday, October 29, with Mahomes in attendance to have his name unveiled in the ring of honor during halftime.
Keep building that empire, Patrick.
