16-Year-Old Makes Pillows for Family of Fallen Smith County Deputy
This is the kind of situation that reminds you of how great things can come out of a really tough situation. Most people in East Texas will always remember the name of Deputy Lorenzo Bustos. He was the Deputy that was killed on duty by a drunk driver in July of 2022. He was conducting a traffic stop on Highway 155 when his vehicle was rear ended by 39-year-old Michael Skinner.
What makes this event even more tragic is that Deputy Bustos was on his last night of training. He was well loved by the department and was on his way to a very successful career, but it was all taken away from him and his family. But recently the Smith County Sheriff’s Office shared the details about a special teenager who decided to make something very special for Deputy Bustos’ family.
Pillows Made for the Bustos Family
Calee Tilton is 16 and is from Palestine, Texas and she decided that she wanted to do something nice for the Bustos’ family, so she used four law enforcement patrol shirts along with patches from the agencies that Deputy Bustos worked for to create these amazing pillows.
The Bustos Family Loved Them
As you would imagine the pillows brought big smiles to the Bustos family. And the Smith County Sheriff’s Office asks everyone to please keep the Bustos family in your prayers. While this family has gone through a lot, we can still do our best to always show them support and love from our community.
