A few days ago, we told you about disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly being moved to New York City to start the first of his many trials on an array of charges involving sexual assault, racketeering and fraud. While Kelly's trials won't begin until later this year, a few of his "associates" have already begun receiving their punishments.

According to Yahoo News, Michael Williams, an associate of R. Kelly, took a plea deal Monday for harassing and intimidating a woman who accused the embattled singer of sexual abuse.

Williams plead guilty to one count of arson for setting fire to a vehicle that was parked in front of the family home of Azriel Clary, Kelly's ex-girlfriend and a witness in his racketeering case. The vehicle was an SUV Clary's father had rented.

Prosecutors presented details that showed that Williams, a few hours before the attack, had reportedly used his cellphone to search for Curry’s address, and he was also captured on toll plaza cameras traveling from Georgia to Florida and then back after the crime was committed.

Not only that, prosecutors presented information that showed that Williams Googled “How do fertilizer bombs work?” along with the phrases “witness intimidation” and “case law for tampering with a witness.”

As part of the deal, prosecutors will drop the witness tampering charge against Williams. He now faces a minimum of 60 months in federal prison and a maximum of 71 months.

As for Kelly, his racketeering and fraud trail in Brooklyn is set to begin in August.
