They were one of the biggest groups in the world in the late 80's and early 90's with massive chart topping hits and albums but we haven't heard much from Tony Toni Tone but continued rumors of a "reunion".

So here's another one.

According to ABC News, Raphael Saadiq recently told them that the group was planning a major comeback in 2021 and that he was setting aside his own personal projects to work on new music.

"I'm actually working on another Tones' record, Tony! Toni! Toné!, me, my brother and Tim," says Saadiq. "We're getting together to do like a little surprise EP because I feel like I've done enough records on myself."

Saadiq left the group in 1997 and while "The Tonys" have continued to tour and make music with founding member and brother to Raphael, Dewayne Wiggins and a different lineup of members, its been a while since we've seen all 3 original members including Timothy Riley release new music, let alone tour together.

Now pardon the snark as I write this because this isn't the first time Mr. Saadiq has teased us with the prospect of a "Tony's" reunion.

Back in 2019, during a radio interview with Sway, he basically said the same thing about a "Tony's" reunion so maybe its taking longer than expected or it could finally be happening. We'll keep you posted and as soon as we know something, you will too!
