Even Shreveport Police Chief Ben Raymond addressed celebratory gunfire yesterday during a briefing. He asked that residents please refrain from firing guns into the air and also reminded the public to maintain safe social distancing. In Shreveport, you're able to shoot fireworks until 1:00 am on New Year's Day, Friday, January 1, 2021. That's your last chance to discharge fireworks in Shreveport city limits until the 4th of July holiday.

Also, don't forget that many area law enforcement agencies are actively patrolling specifically for impaired drivers thanks to grants provided by the Louisiana Department of Highway Safety. So, if you're going out tonight, get a designated driver, get a ride, call a taxi, or make use of a ride-sharing app.
