#SchoolIsCool Event Gets Tyler ISD Students Ready For Back To School
While the kids are still enjoying their summer break, school is the farthest thing from their mind, but it will be here in three and a half quick weeks! First day for Tyler ISD students is Monday, August 28th and Tyler ISD students that need assistance with their school supplies can get some during the #SchoolIsCool event Thursday, August 3rd at Harvey Convention Center in Tyler.
The City of Tyler and the Tyler Independent School District is gearing up to get students ready for the new school year with the return of the #SchoolIsCool back to school event this Thursday at the Rose Garden Center at Harvey Hall from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Tyler ISD has partnered with the Northeast Texas Public Health District, the City of Tyler and area businesses for this free event.
It’s a one-stop shop to get your child ready for the new year. Free health screenings will be conducted along with immunizations, dental screenings, fingerprinting, health and wellness information, nutrition options and school lunch registrations and so much more.
There will also be a school uniform fashion show, help with college preparation, help with after school activities and extracurricular activities. The Tyler Fire and Police Departments will be on hand with special presentations and much more.
Attendees will be able to receive a free backpack for their child that has been filled with school essentials, but the child must be present in order to receive a backpack full of donated items.
Last years #SchoolIsCool event have helped more than 3000 families and more than 2500 backpacks were given out. For more details on #SchoolIsCool just check out their website!
