Shreveport Will Host Mini E.T. Movie Reunion

Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to Downtown Shreveport this August. The 2024 Geek'd Con will take place August 16th, 17th, and 18th, at the Shreveport Convention Center.

The guest lineup will include horror movie icon Tony Todd, Scrubs star John C. McGinley, the voice of Master Chief Steve Downes, award winning actor Billy Zane, the voice of Mickey Mouse Bret Iwan, and many more incredibly talented celebrities. But its not just the stars of film and TV, we have some incredible artists coming to Shreveport this year. Including Marvel Comics artists John Lucas and Roland Paris, and horror illustrator Brian Steward.

One of the coolest appearances at this year's event will be a mini reunion for the legendary film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Stars Henry Thomas and Dee Wallace from the film will be appearing together at the show.

Thomas played the role of Elliott in the movie, who befriends the alien known as E.T. While Dee Wallace played Mary, Elliott's mom. Both Thomas and Wallace were nominated for individual awards for their performances. Thomas was nominated for a Saturn Award, Young Artist Award, and Golden Globe Award, while Wallace picked up a nomination for a Saturn Award.

The film itself won multiple awards, including 4 Academy Awards, and 2 Golden Globe Awards. One of those Golden Globes was for Best Picture. The film's music also won 4 Grammy Awards.
