It's the tenth year for Blue Star Museums, and East Texas has six that have signed on to give free admission to active-duty military and their families this summer.

The National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families said about two thousand museums nationwide are signing on to give free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families between now and Labor Day, and a whole bunch of those are in Texas.

Dallas has six museums that are part of the Blue Star Program, and Fort Worth has eight.  Texas is one of the states with the most museums represented as Blue Star museums and you could probably drive around all summer and not have the time to hit all of them.

There are participating museums in all 50 states and Washington, DC, so our military members in East Texas can find free admission just about anywhere they'll be traveling this summer.  Museums that are included highlight fine art, science, and history, and there are children’s museums, zoos, aquariums, gardens, and a lot more on the list too.

Military families can find the list of other participating museums at arts.gov/bluestarmuseums by state or by zip code.

Another way to create a memorable summer!
