Tyler Police believe at least two of three recent armed robberies of convenience stores may be connected.

Monday night’s robbery of the Express Stop at 1204 Gentry Parkway and last Thursday’s hold-up of the Speedy’s Exxon Station at 900 West Front Street may have been robbed by the same person.

In both robberies, the suspect was described as black male standing about 5-8, 180 pounds and wearing a bandana and displayed a black revolver.

Investigators at this time do not believe an armed robbery last week at another convenience store on Gentry is connected to the string of holdups, but are not ruling out the possibility.

In Lindale, police are searching for a suspect who held-up the Exxon Gas Station at Interstate 20 and Highway 69 on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the suspect armed with a handgun and wearing a mask entered the store and fled with an undetermined amount of money. Officers say the suspect waited for the customers to leave and then went back to rob the store.

No injuries have occurred in any of the recent armed robberies in the Tyler area.

Anyone with information about the suspects involved in this crime are urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers, at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).  Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.
