Tis the season to be shopping!

Target is wasting no time coming for Amazon and Walmart as we approach the holiday season. The retailer announced that it's launching free, two-day shipping on hundreds of thousands of items across its site without requiring a minimum purchase or an annual membership fee.

According to CNBC, this policy is only a holiday perk, scheduled to run November 1 through December 22. Previously, this free shipping option was only open to Target REDcard holders, who get an extra 5% off purchases.

As an added bonus, through Target’s “Drive Up” service, shoppers can place orders online and have it brought to them directly to their cars. This will be available at nearly 1,000 stores ahead of schedule.

Target's goal is to make shopping easier and affordable and according to CEO Brian Cornell, they are ready to deliver:

I have never felt better about our position and our readiness to deliver against the holiday season.

Will this perk encourage you shop at Target for holiday gifts?
