Taylor Swift accepted the Icon Award at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night (Aug. 11).

National Woman Soccer League player, Alex Morgan, presented Swift with the award. During a video segment, Swift's friends and collaborators praised her work and personality. The cameos included Hayley Kiyoko, Wiz Khalifa, Ed Sheeran, Troye Sivan, Haim, and Jameela Jamil. The friends sang her praises and shared why they admire her as a person and artist.

"First I want to talk about Alex Morgan. The fact that she's here presenting this to me is such an honor. Not only winning the World cup with her amazing teammates... but while they were winning the World Cup they were also taking a historic stand in terms of gender equality, gender pay gap," Swift told the crowd. Swift then asked the crowd to support Morgan and her teammates and to get online and talk about gender inequality.  "This isn't over yet it's not resolved. What happened to them is unfair and it's happening everywhere, and they are heroes and icons for standing up," Swift said.

"Second of all I want to shoutout whoever it was at the Teen Choice Awards who decided to put the itty bitty pretty kitty committee on this surfboard... these are my furry children," Swift laughed. The normal surfboard award was customized for Swift with images of her three cats, Benjamin, Olivia, Meredith, on the surfboard award. "Aesthetically speaking this may be my favorite award," Swift smiled.

After speaking about Morgan and the award itself, Swift took a moment to speak directly to her fans. "Thank you for giving me the life that I have. Every single minute of every day, I know that you're the reason that I have the life I have and that I get to do what I love doing," Swift told the crowd.

Swift then shared a piece of advice that she would have wished she knew as a teenager, that mistakes are inevitable.

"Sometimes you think if you can try hard enough, make every decision perfectly, you think you can possibly like ace life and never make any mistakes. It's normal to make mistakes and I just want to let you know that if you're out there being really hard on yourself right now for something that's happened or messing up or feeling embarrassed... it's normal. That's what's going to happen to you in life, no one gets through unscathed, we're all going to have a few scratches on us. So just please be kind to yourselves and stand up for yourself."

To finish her epic acceptance speech, Swift announced the release of her next song, "Lover" on Friday (Aug. 16).

Swift's seventh studio album, Lover, debuts on Aug. 23, and will have four deluxe editions of the album available at Target.
