I guess I'm somewhat of an expert on fear, so naturally I wanted to expose the results of this survey.

Specific Fears

As the owner of a haunted theme park, I specialize in exploiting peoples fears. People naturally are afraid in creepy old houses. Medical things, especially older items and scenarios seem to strike a negative chord with people. Blood is naturally a big fright factor. If I had to say what scared people the most though, it would have to be clowns. We have four haunted attractions and we've had people ask, "Can I skip the clown one" the most. Clowns are just another level for some people.

The Fears Discussed Here

Apparently the results of this study published on Casino.Ca isn't interested in those kind of fears. In their survey the choices seem to be: death, failure, heights, enclosed spaces, spiders, public speaking, snakes, and ghosts & spirits. It's unknown if creepy clowns were even considered, but the previous categories are the ones that came up as winners.

Texas Fears

So what freaks Texans out the most? The answer is "death".  That seems like a kind of hum-drum answer to me. Interjecting my personal beliefs, I think when you're dead you probably aren't aware of it, so why worry about it. I tend to think of death as a lights on/lights off type of scenario. Maybe these Texans are afraid of leaving the people they love behind, or some type of afterlife punishment and that's why it came out as the number one fear of Texans.
