Texas Man Now Doing 14 Years After Selling Fentanyl To DEA
No one likes to talk about it but we know that crime happens everywhere including here in Texas, including the distribution of drugs.
While there will always be individuals who choose to use drugs, there will also be law enforcement officers trying to keep it out of the Lone Star State.
Texas Man Arrest for Selling Drugs to DEA Agent
According to KXAN, 37-year-old Joshua James Calvo just received a 14-year prison sentence after he was caught selling fentanyl and other illegal substances.
The sentence also included that Calvo would have to forfeit $34,567 in cash, jewelry, and 19 firearms that were seized.
After his prison sentence is completed, he will be forced to serve three years of supervised release.
Calvo Sold Drugs to DEA Agents in Texas on Multiple Occasions
There were three specific dates in which controlled buys took place between Calvo and law enforcement. Those dates are February 11th, March 21st, and April 11th all taking place in 2024.
Calvo didn’t know at that time that he was selling heroin and methamphetamine to U.S. DEA agents.
Search Warrant Turned Up More Than Drugs
After DEA agents received the search warrant for Calvo’s home they located 19 firearms more than $34,000 in cash and approximately 23 pounds of drugs.
The drugs that were seized include fentanyl, marijuana, heroin, and meth.
Hopefully this is a wakeup call to others that are selling drugs in Texas that it’s only a matter of time until you are caught and held responsible for your actions. Stop now.
