The Boat Parade Returns To Caddo Lake
This will not be your typical parade because this parade floats! After being absent for a number of years, a citizen of Uncertain, along the shores of Caddo Lake, re-organized the community to bring back the floating parade! When the word hit the street people were apparently rallying together in support of the return of the Caddo Lake Boat Parade!
Shirley Moore, the parade organizer told the Longview News Journal, "I started asking around town about the Christmas parade and people said we didn't have it anymore, but nobody really knew why. I decided to pick up the ball and run with it, so we're bringing back the floating Christmas parade."
A Facebook event was created and the date of Saturday, December 16th was set.
For those wishing to participate in the Caddo Lake Boat Parade, there is no participation fee! Just show up with a decorated boat, with or without lights, at Cypress Village on December 16th at 1 p.m., launch your boat and line up! For those that want to see the boat parade, Shirley told the Longview News Journal that the best viewing sites would be:
Shady Glade Cafe @ 510 Cypress Drive in Karnack
Johnson's Ranch Marina @ 5131 Cypress Drive in Uncertain
I'm pretty sure there are going to be some pretty interesting boats in this very unique East Texas parade!
