We are all looking forward to the weekend. This weekend is going to be another fantastic one for outdoor events that are happening in Marshall, Gladewater, and Gilmer, Texas and all along US Highway 80 from Waskom in the east to Terrell in the west. There is a slight chance of a shower (at this moment) during Saturday afternoon with a high of 83, but nothing but bountiful sunshine Sunday, and a bit cooler with a high of 71.

Get out and enjoy this upcoming weekend. Here's a brief rundown of some of the events and happenings scheduled throughout the region. For more information on any particular event, simply tap on the event name.

East Texas Gusher Days

Gladewater
Friday and Saturday
Pacific St. - Commerce St. - US Hwy. 271
This unique festival will take over downtown Gladewater and spill across the railroad tracks and down Hwy. 271 too. Gusher Days feature an arts and crafts fair, car show, bass tournament, chili cookoff, kids activities, and more. The festival will conclude Saturday evening with a street dance.

Taste Of Marshall

Telegraph Park
A fun, family-friendly event featuring food trucks, music, local vendors, a fashion show, a kids' area, and more.
Purchase of a $25 wristband at the door gets you a free sample from participating food trucks and businesses, plate + cup, and voting on your favorites.

Gilmer Kiwanis 2023 Bunny Run

The Gilmer Kiwanis Club invites you to run/hop to the Annual Bunny Run Fundraiser. This is a one-mile and 5k run/walk. Gilmer Kiwanis offers scholarships to senior students of our communities enrolling in college or technical school.

The Bunny Run will begin on the Gilmer Square at the fountain on Titus St.

Touch-A-Truck

Green Acres Baptist Church
Touch A Truck provides a unique opportunity for children to explore vehicles of all types, including public service, emergency, utility, construction, landscaping, transportation, delivery, and just cool trucks – all in one place!

Children can touch their favorite vehicles, get behind the wheel, and meet the people who help build, protect, and serve our community.
Crafts, games, and food trucks will also be part of the day’s activities.

Noble E. Young Park

Towne Park Dr.
Noble E. Young Park, located at 3081 Towne Park Drive, has received a complete renovation. The City of Tyler Parks and Recreation Department is excited to unveil all the new and updated features including:
• New restrooms and new art mural
• New parking lot and location
• New 1-mile long, 8-foot-wide walking trail
• New picnic tables and benches
• New pavilion
• New children’s bike park
• New outdoor gym
A grand opening ceremony will be held at the park on Thursday, April 15 at 1 p.m. Renovation funding was provided through the Community Development Block Grant program.

Evans United Spring Carnival

It's an old-fashioned carnival complete with rides, carnival games, and of course carnival food! There will be armband specials to allow you to ride all the rides you want.
