Tyler Civic Theatre Hosts ‘Beauty & The Beast’ Pre-Audition Workshops June 27
Ever wanted to pursue the stage? Maybe someone in your family wants to give acting a go? Perhaps you've often dreamed of checking off "auditioning for a play" on your bucket list, but the idea of actually doing it terrifies you?
If you've never auditioned for a show or commercial before, the idea can be daunting. If it's not something you've studied or pursued seriously before, you may feel utterly unprepared. And let's face it, life can be challenging enough without worrying about humiliating yourself in front of judges.
For the record, going through an auditioning process can be great for facing a challenge and building self-esteem--just by doing it. Often, the things we worry about the most don't ever happen and you may find the "judges" are much more generous in nature than the ones you imagine in your head.
However, if there was an opportunity to get a bit of training ahead of time, that would be nice. Well, here's your chance:
The Tyler Civic Theatre Center in Tyler has chosen Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast' as their summer show. Auditions are coming soon, but they've graciously planned a couple of pre-audition workshops that may be just the prep and training you're looking for ahead of time.
In addition, they've realized that maintaining social distancing is important right now, so that has been considered, as well. Only 25 people will be allowed in each one. The workshops are to be held June 27 at the Tyler Civic Theatre. Choose 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. or 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
If you're interested, send them a private message on Facebook here. They're looking for those entering high school in the fall and older.
Break a leg. ;)
