New Restaurants and Coffee Shops Keep Opening in Tyler

(Tyler, Texas) Many restaurants, fast food joints, and coffee shops seem to have no issue attracting customers in Tyler these days. Drive by any coffee shop, and you'll see a line of cars waiting to get that cup of caffeine.

Recent Restaurant Closures in Tyler

Despite a couple of big-name chains recently closing their doors, including Spring Creek Barbecue, Corner Bakery Cafe, Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken, and Razzoo's, along with one-time local favorites Ken's Pizza and Roma Italian Kitchen, other Tyler hot spots are popping up with new restaurants and places to quench your thirst.

New Growth Along Loop 323

Take a look at the west side of Loop 323 near Earl Campbell Parkway. Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers recently opened, joining Chick-fil-A and 7 Brew. Soon, the chain, Smalls Sliders, will be opening next to 7 Brew as this area expands and grows.

Local Businesses Expanding in Tyler

Another local Tyler business is expanding and will be opening its second location in another growing part of town, Old Jacksonville Highway. Likewise Coffee recently announced its plans to open a new location on Old Jacksonville Highway in April. The location will be across the street from Stewart Funeral Home.

A social media posting says, "You’ll notice the same heart, the same drinks you know and love, but inside a fresh, funky new space that hopefully finds a way into your routine as you commute and do life here in Tyler."

Why Supporting Local Restaurants Matters

While it is sad to see some of our old-time favorites close, it's always great to see new businesses open up. The thing is, we all have to support these local businesses well beyond their grand openings. If not, I could be writing another sad story of a Tyler business closing its doors for good. Let's not let that happen.
