When the remodeling is done, the fresh coat of paint is on the wall or that little "honey do" project is complete what do you do with the left over paint?  Well, if you're me...it sits in the corner of the garage and collects dust because you can't just throw it away.  Now the City of Tyler is hosting a Paint Recycling Day on Saturday (May 14th).

Gary Lynch of the Tyler Solid Waste Department says,

We want to give Tyler residents a chance to dispose of paint in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.  This is a great opportunity to get rid of those leftover paint cans that so many of us have sitting around the garage after a project.”

You'll be able to dispose of up to 25 gallons of latex or oil based paint per house - just bring along your water bill and driver's license for proof of residency.

The great thing about this recycling event is that if the paint is still in great condition and of quantity, it will be donated to the Habitat For Humanity of Smith County.

The Tyler paint recycling event will be happening Saturday 8a-12n at the Tyler Solid Waste employee parking lot on N. Bois D'Arc (near W. Locust St & N. Bois D'Arc).
