Tyler’s Chez Bazan French Bakery & Cafe To Close
Creating French sweets, cakes, pastries, cookies and other delicious treats for more than 30 years, Chez Bazan French Bakery and Cafe on Old Bullard Rd. in Tyler will be closing their doors soon. The family owned business will close their location at 5930 Old Bullard Rd. sometime in June according to their Facebook page. The bakery came to life in 1985 on Troup Highway with founder Richard Bazan opening a French bakery. Soon he added a cafe and moved to their current location in 1992 after outgrowing their Troup Highway store front. Claudia, Anna and Ralph Bazan, children of Richard, took over the family business after his death in 1999 and continued to run the business as it flourished. The family branched out to create specialty and extravagant wedding cakes as they held true to the family roots, creating home cooked meals and treats straight from their kitchen.
I remember working with Anna back in 2011 as she graciously hosted us as we decorated cakes for a contest we had for a Taste of Home Cooking Show. You can see me decorate my first cake in the videos below. Chez Bazan was also the host of many Mix VIP Lunches throughout the years too.
This family bakery and cafe is definitely going to be missed in Tyler. We wish the Bazan's the best and thank them for all the sweets they've created throughout their more than 30 years in Tyler.
