A popular brand of dog food sold at Walmart stores has been recalled for potential "loose metal pieces" per the FDA.

Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food in 44-pound bags sold at Texas Walmarts are subject to the recall. Potentially contaminated bags were also sold in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.

The affected products have a "Best By Date" of March 4, 2025, as well as the Lot Code 410B2TXT02. The FDA said the date and code are listed on the bottom seal of the back of the bag.

So far no animals have been reportedly harmed by the food, and Mars Petcare US, the maker of the Pedigree food issued their recall voluntarily. Any bags remaining on Walmart shelves have already been removed.
