Coffee, Pilates, Chili Cook-Off And More This Weekend In East Texas

(East Texas) The weekend is in sight. We've been looking forward to it all weekend. We've made plans to do things with family and friends, and it's usually the time we're running errands and going to the grocery store. However, our weekend plans could be derailed thanks to Mother Nature.

We've all been keeping an eye on the extended forecast thanks to an Arctic blast that will move in and plunge us into a deep freeze! Once the powerful cold front moves in Friday evening and drops our temperatures below freezing, we will not see temperatures above freezing temperatures until Tuesday. Mix those freezing temperatures with precipitation, and we've got a recipe for a disastrous weather event to play out across East Texas.

The region is expected to receive a mixture of sleet and freezing rain on Friday evening and throughout Saturday, with a slight chance of snow on Sunday. The accumulation of ice could cause tree damage and power outages due to fallen trees. So our weekend event plans could be in jeopardy this weekend.

However, if you're able to venture out, please exercise caution while traveling, especially over bridges and elevated road surfaces. As of now, all of these events are still scheduled to happen. Be sure to click the event title to be notified of any changes.

The Mobberly Baptist Church Mountain Bike Trails in Longview is the site for the Scrambled Legs: Run Edition. Vendors will be on site before the run. You can run as many laps as you'd like around the trails. There will be prizes and awards given out as well.

Pilates & Praise

NW Loop 7 - Athens

It will be a powerful morning with praise, pilates, and fellowship in Athens for Pilates & Praise. Get in your workout and fellowship with others. There will be prayer, shopping opportunities, and refreshments after the class. It is a mom-friendly zone, so infants are welcome. There is a registration fee for this event.
