Weekend Events In East Texas – September 13th
(Mix 93-1) Hopefully you enjoyed the 'fake fall' last weekend, because it's going to feel more like summer this weekend. Technically, though, it is still summer. The humidity is expected to return along with temperatures in the low to mid-90s
But this is something that East Texans are accustomed to. We'll survive and have our weekend fun still despite the heat and humidity.
This weekend, the Pines Theater in Lufkin will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. Built in 1925, the movie theater has shown thousands of movies to millions of patrons. Everyone is invited out on Saturday evening to celebrate this historic theater. Among the activities, Saturday evening will be a vintage car show, live music, giveaways, and area businesses will have specials in honor of this monumental occasion.
Here's a look at what's happening this weekend in East Texas.
