It's election year and this November we'll be deciding who will be moving into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.! Before that happens though the Republican and Democratic parties must decide on who the candidates will be who'll be running for the Office of the President of the United States. Primary elections are coming up soon and you must be registered to vote in advance to make your voice count.

To vote in the Texas Primary on Tuesday, March 1st you must be registered by February 1, 2016. You may register to vote through your counties Voter Registration Office. To find out where to register to vote in your county check out VoteTexas.gov.  Then to find out where to vote in your precinct on March 1st, check out the VoteTexas.gov website for assistance.

In Texas there are three methods used to place your vote:

  • paper ballot
  • optical scan ballot
  • electronic ballot

If you've never used an electronic ballot to cast your vote, you can try it out on a test machine with a pretty funny question!

Once the votes have been counted and released for the March 1st primaries, if there are any primary runoff elections necessary, those will be held on Tuesday, May 24th and the voting registration deadline is April 25th. When it comes election day in November (Tuesday, November 8th) you'll need to be registered to vote by October 11th!

Make your voice count. Register to vote. Vote at your local precinct polling location. We hope your candidate wins office!
