Yes, there is such a thing as a "Mom & Pop Museum" and if you're in East Texas, you might want to visit this one.

One couple in East Texas obviously turned thier love of clocks, and salt & pepper shakers into a roadside museum.

The location is Jefferson, Texas, which is north of Marshall, Texas. In case that doesn't help, it's about halfway between Longview, Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana. The town seems to have a number of attractions to check out, and more than a few bed & breakfasts if you want to stay a while.

The Museum Of Time isn't even listed on the official list of attractions for the town, but is listed on Roadside America as a "great little museum" run by "the sweetest couple you will ever meet". The owners run a guided tour through everything including hundreds of clocks and over 1400 salt & pepper sets.

The review for "The Museum Of Time" was written in 2018, but the location still has a functioning website announcing the addition of mechanical musical instruments and more. The site also sadly mentions that the wife is suffering from dementia. You may just brighten these folks day by visiting and that would be a pretty cool thing to do. There is no charge, but they take donations.
