8 Tyler Area Restaurants Had Issues With Their Latest Inspection
Having a clean restaurant in Tyler, Texas takes discipline, motivation, and diligence. Restaurant owners and those in charge are held to a high standard because they are in charge of the operation and if something goes wrong they could get someone or many people sick if they don't follow established protocols from the local health department.
I once held a retail job and there was the saying, "If you have time to lean, you have time to clean." Back then I thought it was silly, but it's true when you think about it. Now working in a restaurant I'm sure there's not much leaning going but that doesn't mean you can get relaxed on your cleaning routines. You have to work cleaning in while being busy all day long.
NET Health inspectors are out constantly inspecting our eating establishments, school cafeterias, food trucks, grocery/convenience stores, daycare/nursing/health care facilities, hotels, and more throughout Tyler and Smith County to make sure they are following the established rules.
This past April a popular fried chicken joint in Tyler voluntarily closed down because they nearly failed their inspection. The restaurant had an inoperable cooler and could not keep the food cold enough. There have since been two follow-up inspections and there seem to be lingering issues within this place after looking at their latest inspection.
While being inspected recently, another Tyler restaurant voluntarily closed temporarily so that an issue could be addressed and fixed with its walk-in coolers. Restaurant owners, managers, and those in charge do have a lot to maintain, manage, and keep up with and if it weren't for the NET Health inspections, we'd all be questioning the food we receive from restaurants.
