A 2nd Great Wolf Lodge Will Open Near Houston, Texas In 2024

Great Wolf Lodge is expanding its footprint in Texas with the opening of its second location in the Lone Star State. Webster, Texas (about 30 minutes southeast of Houston) will be home to another massive indoor water park and resort. So no matter what the weather is like outside, 102 degrees and extremely humid or 42 degrees and windy, it's always going to be a balmy 85 degrees inside this water park.

The 27-acre family-themed facility will have 532 guest rooms and an entertainment space covering 400,00 square feet, a massive 95,000 square foot water park along with a 58,000 square foot Great Wolf Adventure Park that will include interactive games for guests to play while enjoying their stay. The proposed park will be located right off of I-45 South (Gulf Freeway) near an established Top Golf facility and close to Space Center Houston and NASA in a 120-acre multi-use development called Flyway. This development will be home to 1.6 million square feet of retail, restaurants, an open lawn for movies and concerts, and park space.

Construction on Great Wolf Lodge Will Begin Soon.

The city says groundbreaking and construction will begin on the project during the first quarter of 2022 with an anticipated opening and should be ready to entertain guests by the summer or early fall of 2024. This will be the company's second location in Texas, the first Great Wolf Lodge location opened in 2015 in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in  Grapevine, Texas.

What is there to do at a Great Wolf Lodge?

This particular property will have an indoor water park where guests can enjoy slides, pools, and more all year long. The adventure park will feature many interactive games for families. There will be daily events for all guests to enjoy as well as on-site dining and some pretty uniquely themed lodge guest rooms. Many rooms have bunk beds for the kids it just depends on the room type you reserve.
