‘Eat Mor Chikin’ 24/6: Chick-fil-A’s New Vending Machine Test
(Mix 93-1) 'Eat Mor Chikin', say the Chick-fil-A cows, and boy do we ever. It's hard not to find a time when a Chick-fil-A restaurant or drive-thru isn't lined up with 8 to 65 cars waiting to get their chicken sandwich or those cravable nuggets. Even with a long line, we’ll wait until our order’s delivered.
‘Eat Mor Chikin’—Anytime, Almost
I'm thankful I have daytime work hours, so that when I crave a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich, I can simply hit up the drive-thru and pick one up, but those who have a craving at 2 in the morning or work an overnight shift don't have that luxury. I've worked the overnight shift and know there's nothing open.
For some overnight workers, they may soon be able to get their Chick-fil-A craving at any time of the night, thanks to a Chick-fil-A vending machine. Vending machines are everywhere, and they dispense all kinds of drinks, snacks, electronics, and other things when you swipe that card, so why not have a Chick-fil-A vending machine?
The Chick-fil-A Vending Machine Test Site
Well, there is! Yahoo! Life says the chicken chain giant hasn't officially released plans on a local or nationwide rollout on these vending machines, but there is one in existence, and it's serving Chick-fil-A wraps and chips 24/6.
Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia, is the test site for this new vending machine. Just as Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays, so is this machine, since workers can’t restock it that day. That's why it's open 24/6.
What You Can Order from the Vending Machine
The options from this single machine for anyone in the hospital are limited to two wrap options and two chip options. With the swipe of your credit or debit card, you can select from a Cool Wrap with grilled chicken with avocado lime ranch dressing or the Southwest Veggie Wrap and a choice of waffle fry chips.
Why It’s a Smart Move for Overnight Workers
While it may seem weird to place the machine in a hospital, this option gives those who have a limited break time and overnight workers who have no access to the chicken giant an option for a good, cold meal or snack. If the concept proves worthy, we could be seeing more of these vending machines pop up at hospitals, airports, college campuses, malls, and other places so that we all can 'Eat Mor Chikin'.
