Courteney Cox has vanquished all of our hopes and dreams of a 'Friends' reunion with four simple words. "It's not gonna happen" the 'Cougar Town' star told David Letterman while she stopped by the 'Late Show' recently.

The 'Friends' alumni may never revive their respective roles ever again, but their characters still live in on in the actors themselves. Just ask Courteney Cox, who sounded eerily like Monica Gellar when she explained that she can't even get the cast to go out to dinner together.

"Let me tell you something. There's six friends and I have been trying to put together a cast dinner for 10 years. It doesn't happen," she revealed to Letterman. "I mean, I can get the girls to come, maybe Matthew Perry. Matt LeBlanc canceled last time right at the last minute, [David] Schwimmer lives here [in New York], so it's just not gonna happen."

Life imitating art, huh? Joey Tribbiani would cancel at the last minute -- although we're not so sure how eager he'd be to miss a delicious meal.

And forget about any rumors of a 'Friends' movie -- Cox was just as quick to shoot down any chance of that happening, either.

"We did the whole show on a sound stage in Monica's apartment, pretty much, so what are we going to do [in a movie]?" she asked. Point taken -- although we wouldn't be opposed to the cast venturing out on location in Manhattan, or even stopping by Central Perk once in a while. But sadly, those ideas will have to remained tucked away -- at least for now.
