Downtown Street Closure Planned This Weekend

The City of Tyler street department is scheduled to close the intersection at Front Street and South Broadway Avenue beginning tonight at 8:00 p.m., through this weekend to repair damage caused by a recent sinkhole. The intersection will remain closed to through traffic until 5:00 a.m. Monday, or until the work is completed. Drivers will need to plan alternate routes through the downtown Tyler area this weekend.

Heart of Tyler, the city's only non-profit organization solely dedicated to downtown revitalization, will host their annual fundraiser Saturday night. The Sixth Annual Black Tie Bingo Gala, Bourbon Street Bingeaux, will be held inside the Fair Building located at 117 S. Broadway. Heart of Tyler has provided the following map to help their guests and volunteers find alternative routes to the site.
