The East Texas Crisis Center invites you to 'Walk a Mile in Her Shoes,' to raise awareness about the serious causes, effects and remediation's to sexual violence on May 31, in Athens during the Fiddlers Festival.

The event is a fun way for men to take part in the international Men's March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault and Violence against Women. We've all heard the saying, "You can’t really understand another person’s experience until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes," and this event literally asks men to walk in women's high-heeled shoes.

It's a feat of the feet that is not easy for men, and gains community attention for a cause that is hard to discuss, gender relations and sexual violence. 'Walk a Mile in Her Shoes' shows that men can partner with women in creating a safe environment for all.

Registeration is open now through April 15, and special shoes designed for men will be provided. Individuals and teams are welcome, register at the East Texas Crisis Center or the Athens Review offices. Stay up to date with information by visiting the East Texas Crisis Center’s 2nd Annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes Facebook Event Page.
