Every year at Easter, the Peeps hatch from marshmallow eggs (I'm assuming) and we shove as many as we can into our mouths while saying "chubby bunny". Whoever can't say it first loses.

However, we are an adventurous people, so it'll be interesting to see how many Texans try to win those mini cans of Peeps cola! I do remember last year hearing of a Peeps shortage, and there was even talk of Peeps just shutting down at one point.

The pandemic really put the Peeps business in jeopardy. Fortunately, they were able to 'weather the storm' so to speak and rebound in enough time to fill this year's Easter baskets. In fact, the Peeps peeps have found a way to be more accessible year round and not just at Easter.

Since 2014, Peeps have been included in Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day, and you can sometimes find Peeps Minis year-round.

How about some fun recipes with Peeps? Delish posted an article in February featuring some great ideas you can try, like the Peeps S'mores Brownies, Peepsie Treats (Peeps & Rice Krispies) Peeps Jell-O Shots, Peeps-Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies, and one for the adults here with the Peeps-Infused Vodka.

However you like 'em, keep your Peeps close.
