BookTok Is Bringing a New Festival to East Texas
There are lots of people in East Texas who love to read, and it seems like reading continues to grow in popularity with platforms like TikTok driving book-related content. It’s known as BookTok, a subcommunity where users share book reviews, recommendations, and literary discussions, which truly influence reading habits and book sales worldwide. The popularity of reading is now bringing a book festival to East Texas in 2027.

Meet the Women Behind the Festival
Two ladies, McCayleigh Daniels and Hayley Rogers, are friends and love books. The pair also host a podcast called Two Chicks and a Plot Twist. Their love for books is what created this idea of having a book festival in Longview.
The two friends have an Instagram page with over 10,000 followers as they love to share their favorite books. They also interview authors and people in the publishing industry.

What to Expect at Plot Twist Book Fest
The Plot Twist Book Fest will take place in May of 2027, with author panels and signings, a book vendor market of sorts, live podcast recordings and more. The date is set for May 22, 2027 at the Maude Cobb Center.
The Two Chicks and a Plot Twist podcast now has over 100 episodes and they only hope to continue to grow that number even more.
McCayleigh and Hayley want other East Texas vendors, authors, book clubs, and all book lovers to join them for the festival next year. If you want to know more or stay in the know as more details are being released, you can visit their website here.
This is one event many East Texas book lovers won’t want to miss.
