JCPenney Is Closing Several East Texas Stores
The retail giant will be closing 154 stores across the US this summer as part of a bankruptcy plan.
Like many other retailers, JCPenney is having difficulty surviving in the digital age and now dealing with temporary closures due to the coronavirus pandemic has made matters even worse. The retailer recently filed for bankruptcy protection because of the coronavirus closures with hopes of emerging from bankruptcy as a stronger company that is more flexible financially. JCPenney announced via their website that they reviewed the company's footprint and made a difficult decision to close 154 of their stores.
