As the weather begins to warm up, and Spring is on the way, so are the opportunities to run in East Texas. March 23, the Azalea 10K will once again hit the brick streets of Tyler.

With the azaleas beginning to bloom around East Texas, this is one of the more beautiful runs of the year. Proceeds will benefit the Children's Village, and registration is open.

The race is rich in history dating back to 1984, and changing hands over the years. This year, runners are invited to recall the history of the race, and experience it as a part of Tyler's Azalea and Spring Flower Trails.

The race will begin and end on College Ave at Bergfeld Park and offers both a 5K and 10K.

Race organizers Graham Jones and Megan Riaz are marathon runners with experience planning and producing runs. Riaz helped coordinate the original FRESH 15 in Tyler, and travels the country helping produce running events.
