Lufkin Firefighter Wins ‘Coolest Dad in East Texas’ Contest

Ryan Castro didn't even know that his wife, Aimee, had entered his picture into the KICKS 105/McWilliams and Son Heating and AC Coolest Dad in East Texas contest.  That all changed quickly when she started spreading the word on social media encouraging most everyone she knows, and possibly doesn't know, to vote for the picture of her husband holding their daughter, Ava, in the pocket of his firefighter pants.

After 48 hours of voting, the Lufkin fireman had received the most votes of the 31 finalists and therefore claimed the grand prize.  From McWilliams and Son, Castro won a cooler full of $500 worth of Summer fun items, and from Kelly's Truck Parts, he took home a Traeger Pro 22 Series Grill valued at $650 (pictured below, Ronnie Kelly and Ryan Castro).
