Madonna Celebrates 55th With Cake

Madonna celebrated her 55th birthday over the weekend with a birthday party inspired by Marie Antoinette, and her most famous quote, "Let them eat cake".

Madonna and guests all got into the theme dressing in sexy period costumes and eating cake, of course.

The party was catered by the high-end French bakery Ladurée.

Madonna posted a photo of herself on Instagram with the caption, "Perhaps we had too much Cale! But at my Birthday Party all I could see was LOVE."

Realizing she'd misspelled a word, she then corrected herself, writing, "Perhaps I had too much Champagne! I meant to write CAKE!"
