Need to get rid of an extra vehicle?

Students in the Auto Tech program at Mineola High School could use it.

According to the Tyler Paper, the Mineola ISD Auto Tech department is seeking donations of vehicles for students to practice and sharpen their skills with hands-on learning.

The district is accepting vehicles that are 1997 or newer. Vehicles also must not have been wrecked. The Auto Tech department plans to restore and sell the donated cars in order to provide funds to purchase parts and supplies for future projects.

The program will help as many as 28 students earn one or more ASE certifications. Cars must come with a title and be restorable in order for a receipt to be issued.

Need repairs? The Auto Tech students perform other automotive maintenance and repair such as oil changes, wheel alignments and other services for a minimum fee. Want more information? Contact instructor Shelby Turner at turners@mineolaisd.net or call 903-569-2448.
