This week's recipient is Coach Tony Valladares of Weldon Elementary in Gladewater.

Mix 93-1 and Half Price Books are proud to recognize Coach Tony Valladares, a P.E. coach at Weldon Elementary in Gladewater as the Mix 93-1 Teacher Of The Week. We thank the parent that took the time to tell us about Coach Valladares, here's what she had to say about him:

Coach Valladares deserves this award because of his willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty. Just because a child is no longer at his school doesn't mean he stops caring...my son is having a rough year with the transition to middle school and for various other reasons. After finding out about what my son was going through, he has made a point to walk to the other campus daily and seek my son out to show him that he cares and is there for him. His words of encouragement have meant the world to my son and to me as well. I wish there were more teachers with this kind of heart. He is a true asset to Gladewater ISD!
