The City of Tyler has something new to be excited about it. A plan to improve one of its most utilized and celebrated parks, the Rose Complex.

Tyler Parks and Recreation entered into an agreement with Halff Associates in September 2016 to create a master plan of the Rose Complex area.

This includes Harvey Convention Center, the Rose Garden and Rose Garden Center, the East Texas State Fairgrounds, Tyler ISD’s football and baseball facilities, Windsor Grove Park and the surrounding areas.

Several public planning and design charrettes, as well as monthly steering committee meetings, have been conducted to narrow development options based on the opinions and suggestions received. Next, a public meeting will be conducted to receive public comment on the three different plans.

This meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rose Garden Center in the Rose Room. The public is invited to voice their opinion and gain more knowledge about this exciting project.

“This public meeting is a wonderful opportunity for the citizens and community to provide input on the design alternatives we have created for this important cultural and tourism site in the City of Tyler,” states Rick Leisner, Project Director for the Halff Associate Team.
