We have all seen a truck like the following above. Where they usually have a spotter truck in front and back of them giving them a heads up about the traffic surrounding them. An oversize load typically causes folks to slow down to get around them. Well the Texas Department of Transportation is not allowing any oversize shipments on April 8th. That goes from midnight to midnight in the following Texas counties.

  • Lamar, Lampasas, Leon, Limestone, Llano

All of these Texas counties are in the path of totality on April 8th. Texas is planning to have a 222% traffic increase on this day. Millions of people are flocking to see 100% coverage of a solar eclipse in parts of Texas.

Construction has also been banned on Texas highways from April 7-9 to help keep traffic flow going as smooth as possible. This Monday is going to get very interesting in Texas. Texas will not experience an event like this again until August 12, 2045. That will be hitting the Texas panhandle and parts of southern Oklahoma in a few decades.
