It seems like over the past 10 years or so the beer industry has blown up. If you visit a grocery store and go to the beer isle there are dozens if not hundreds of beers to choose from. Everything from light beer to dark beer, fruity beers or stronger IPA’s. With all the options to choose from one thing is certain, people here in the great state of Texas love to drink beer.

Recently an online site List Wire came up with a list of the states that drink the most beer and it wasn’t exactly shocking to see that Texas made the top ten when looking at all 50 states plus Washington D.C. While the rankings can be fun to look at there weren’t a lot of scientific formulas that went into coming up with this list. It’s just ranking each state on the number of gallons of beer was consumed per capita.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
