Anytime I find myself visiting a place, including one of our East Texas cities, I always try and find a little lunch spot a bit off the beaten path. Happily, there are many. I found one such place just last week in Henderson called the Brick Street GrillLooking for a place for stop, I was immediately beckoned by the colorful, remodeled cafe that had clearly been a service station in a former life. Once you walk inside, you're greeted by a cheerful, nostalgic vibe--which I love.

Locally owned and operated by sincerely friendly people, the menu offered quite a variety of tasty options from the Taco Spud, baked potatoes topped with taco meat and all the fixings, to Loaded Chicken Nachos topped with homemade guacamole, to sandwiches and wraps of all kinds. And hey, don't forget about Taco Thursday when you can get Brisket Street Tacos all day for only one dollar.

They also serve delicious breakfast options--ALL DAY LONG. I'm not talking about just the basics either--these are off the chain options like Waffles and Wings, Brisket Biscuits and Gravy, and their Big Breakfast Burrito. Nice kids' menu, as well as fresh cookies made daily.

If you're looking for lighter fare, they have a pretty extensive smoothie menu, including non-dairy milks as an option. They cater, too.

Get directions and more detailed info here. I'll definitely be back!
