Westlake, Texas native Joe Jonas is taking on the residents of Texas, by telling them 'Don't Mess With Texas'.

Since 1986 Texans have been hearing the message from many different celebrities to 'Don't Mess With Texas' when it comes to littering. Texas is a beautiful state and we want to keep it that way, but it takes a conscious effort from all of us to remember to properly dispose of trash and not just throw it out the window or on the ground.

The Texas Department Of Transportation recently announced that Joe Jonas finds lassoing litter to be his biggest challenge yet. Even bigger than the songs he's written and performed and television shows he's been in. Joe is starring in an over-the-top public service announcement addressing litter along Texas roadways. In the attention-grabbing spot, Joe ends up inspiring an office of people to join him to keep our roads and highways litter-free.

TxDOT would like the new campaign to resonate with Texans - young and old - and have us properly disposing of our litter and not just throwing it on the ground. Don't Mess With Texas campaign coordinator, Becky Ozuna says,

Joe understands the pride that we have in our state and in keeping it clean for everyone to enjoy its beauty, now and in the future. We are thrilled to have Joe join us in bringing attention to our litter-free message through his comedic talent and timing."

The 'Don't Mess With Texas' program has been endorsed by some high-profile celebrities in the past, including, George Strait, Willie Nelson, Black Pumas, Eva Longoria, Erykah Badu, Randy Rogers Band, Las Fenix, and Matthew McConaughey and now Joe Jonas.

So if you hear a 55-gallon drum barrel being dragged across the floor in your office, it could be Joe Jonas wearing his western shirt with yellow fringe pulling that red, white and blue can telling you 'Don't Mess With Texas'!
