This week's recipient is Amy Hickmon of Athens Middle School.

Mix 93-1 and Half Price Books are proud to recognize Mrs. Hickmon, an 8th grade theater teacher at Athens Middle School as the Mix 93-1 Teacher Of The Week. We thank this student for submitting Ms. Hickmon to be recognized for what she's doing at Athens Midddle School. Here's what the student had to say about her:

Mrs. Hickmon has been battling breast cancer for the past 2 years and is now cancer free and [she has]still managed to have a theatre team that won first place in our UIL competition. She is always willing to go the extra mile and will not stop until we are ready. I have been her student for the past 3 years of middle school and she still surprised me. She is willing to do anything for her students - if they're having a bad day she will let them take a break and nap or try to have the class cheer them up. I really believe that Mrs. Hickmon should win because she is a very determined and compassionate person.
