This week's recipient is Mrs. Carr of Hallsville High School in Hallsville.

Mix 93-1 and Half Price Books are proud to recognize Mrs. Carr, a theater teacher at Hallsville High School in Hallsville. Mrs. Carr was nominated by on of her students who had these kind words about her:

Shalem Carr is a theater director and teacher whom helps her students find their identity on the stage. I was terrified of setting foot on a stage, and ironically it was the only place I would truly ever be myself. Mrs.Carr welcomed me into the department with open arms and it has become my home. Mrs.Carr is more than a theater teacher, for many of her students she is the only positive mentor they have. She is a mother to not only her 2-year-old son, but to nearly 150 other kids. She is our mentor and our friend. To say that she is a hardworking woman would be an understatement. Mrs. Carr lives for the work that she does and at the end of the day she goes home and works on whatever theater performance we are currently doing. In our class we don’t have enough textbooks for everyone to learn the importance of performing arts.
