Sony has revealed their latest gaming console, PlayStation 5, to the world. In a little over one hour digital presentation, we learned what games would be available on the console, some neat controller features and what the console looks like. All in all, I'm in love.

Last December, Sony's video game competitor, Microsoft, revealed their next generation console, XBox Series X. Sony stayed quite. We kept hearing more and more news about Microsoft's console. Sony stayed quite. People were starting to speculate that Sony was having issues with the console or that it might be delayed completely.

Well, all that speculation can be put to rest. Today (June 11), Sony revealed their next console in the PlayStation line, PlayStation 5. We got a look at many of the exclusive games that will be coming to the console and a look at the console itself. Which is different to say the least.

But let's start with the games, a lot of exclusives, some third party and a lot of independent studios were shown off, twenty five in all. I won't go over all of them but I will show some of my favorites.

Spiderman: Miles Morales

If you played Spiderman on the PlayStation 4 (PS4), you know how great of a game it was. Miles had a small role in that story. This next iteration looks to focus on Miles and how he became Spiderman. I'm excited for this one.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

I haven't played all of the Ratchet & Clank games but the ones I have are super fun. This one looks just as fun.

Godfall

This is probably my favorite new game coming to PlayStation 5 (PS5). Ever since I saw the teaser trailer back in December, this game has intrigued me. Seeing the newest trailer makes me even more excited for this game.

Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo is a fantastic racing simulator. I have owned just about every one for each PlayStation console dating back to the PlayStation 1. This looks super great as always.

Project Athia

This is an original game coming to the PS5 so I don't know a whole lot about it but this game has me intrigued and I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Horizon: Forbidden West

Horizon Zero Dawn on the PS4 is a fantastic, and beautiful looking, game. This next adventure for Aloy looks fantastic.

Resident Evil VIII: Village

I've only played a couple of the Resident Evil games but this one looks great and looks scary as hell, too.

All in all, I loved today's presentation. There were some things we didn't learn about the console. We've known that we'll be able to play PS4 games on the system but a lot of fans, including myself, would love to be able to play PlayStation 1, 2 and 3 disks on the system, as well. I doubt that will be the case but here's hoping.

We didn't get a firm release date or price. All we know is Holiday 2020, which many are speculating will be mid November. As far as price, I would not be surprised to see it come in at $499.99. I was surprised to see an all digital edition available as well. This console will not have a disc drive and could possibly be a little cheaper.

There looks to be several accessories available at launch, too. Personally, I'll probably pick up the remote since you'll be able to play ultra high def 4K movies on the system.

Sony's consoles have been pretty straight forward when it comes to design. This one is totally different than anything they have released before, I think that's why it's throwing so many off. I personally love the design. I'm so looking forward to when the PS5 comes out. It'll make a nice Christmas present for myself.
