Taylor Swift Offered the Role of Eponine in ‘Les Miserables’ Film
Taylor Swift may be headed for the big screen once again. The 22-year-old star has been offered the role of Eponine in the Tom Hooper’s film adaptation of ‘Les Miserables.’
As we previously reported, Lea Michele, Scarlet Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood were vying for the role, however, Broadway World has confirmed that Swift has received an offer for the part. If she accepts, fans will be hearing the country-pop star’s take on ‘On My Own’ before the end of the year.
Swift will be in good company playing Eponine. Her co-stars will include Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as Javert, Sacha Baron Cohen as Thernardier, Eddie Redmayne as Marius, Aaron Tveit as Enjolras, Anne Hathaway as Fantine and Helena Bonham Carter as Madame Thenardier.
Like Swift, an offer has been made to ‘Mamma Mia!’ actress Amanda Seyfried to play the role of Cosette. According to Broadway World, both stars are expected to sign and take their respective parts. This will be Swift’s second major film role, following her portrayal of Felicia in 2010′s ‘Valentine’s Day.’
Rehearsals for the movie begin at the end of the month, and the project will begin shooting in March. Each cast member is expected to sing live on film, and if all goes as planned, fans will be seeing the big-screen version of the iconic musical when it hits theaters on Dec. 7.
