Black Tie Bingo Brings Bourbon Street To Downtown Tyler
Mark your calendar and secure your ticket today for Heart of Tyler's annual fundraiser, Black Tie Bingo! The event will be held at 6:30 p.m., Saturday August 10th at the Fair Building in downtown Tyler. This year's theme is Bourbon Street Bingeaux, and guests will encounter a Mardi Gras atmosphere complete with dueling pianos and artists in a miniature Jackson Square.
Three years ago, I began volunteering with Heart of Tyler by donating my services as a DJ to Black Tie Bingo. After spending a fun night playing music, I decided to become more involved and join the committee.
Each year Heart of Tyler creates a new theme and transforms a vacant building in downtown Tyler to help showcase the property and the growth and revitalization that non-profit is working towards. Two years ago we were playing bingo aboard the Broadway Queen.
Above, I'm pictured wearing the wine pull grand prize from 2011, a beautiful pearl necklace donated by Elliott's Jewelers in Tyler. Guests spend cash to pull for a prize. Not knowing which bottle of wine they will get or what prize might be attached to it.
Join us this year and enjoy a fun night of bingo, dueling pianos and Bourbon Street flair. lease RSVP by Aug. 5, 2013 by purchasing online, sending an email to DowntownRSVP@tylertexas.com, or calling (903) 593-6905.
